The UTC in Trondheim is divided between the University (NTNU) and MARINTEK.
NTNU is doing the most basic research, done by academic staff, students, PhD-students and post.docs.
NTNU is also having the UTC director. MARINTEK is doing the more applied research.
As seen from the figure below, there are separate contracts between Rolls-Royce and NTNU and MARINTEK.
The co-ordination of the work done at NTNU and MARINTEK is performed by the UTC Director and by the UTC Co-ordinator in Rolls-Royce Marine.
