Charge for use of Marine Cybernetics Laboratory (MCLab)

• Students and employees from Institutt for Marin Teknikk (IMT) and Institutt for Teknisk Kybernetikk (ITK) shall pay NOK 1000 per day.
• Users from other parts of NTNU shall pay NOK 2000 per day.
• External users (MARINTEK, SINTEF, and similar) and commercial projects at NTNU shall pay NOK 5 000 per day.

Payment is for due all days that you have booked the laboratory. It does not matter if you didn’t actually use the laboratory some of the booked days. If you cancel your booking later than four weeks in advance you still have to pay, if the result of the cancellation is that the laboratory is not used in the period you had booked. Booking and cancellation of booking shall be made with Knut Arne Hegstad, kah@ntnu.no . He can tell you if your booking can be changed without charge.

If you are not able to use the laboratory some of the booked days because it is not available to you, you shall not pay for those days. By “not available” is meant for instance that the previous project is delayed, or that there is a critical fault with either the carriage or the wave maker. Problems with the model or instrumentation are the responsibility of the user (you!). Be sure to check well in advance that the model and the instrumentation are working and available to you when the test shall start. You might often be able to start the preparations before the booked time. The lab technicians might help you, but the instrumentation and test set-up is your responsibility, unless the lab technicians have specifically agreed to take care of it.
